Governor Siminalayi Fubara has shown exceptional dedication and commitment to the development and progress of Rivers State, despite the political crisis that has targeted his administration. Within just eight months of his leadership, Governor Fubara has initiated and completed numerous projects that have improved the lives of Rivers people and advanced the fortunes of the state.

One of the most significant projects that Governor Fubara has embarked on is the N195bn ring road project in Port Harcourt. This project, with a completion target of three years, aims to connect six communities in the state. Governor Fubara emphasised that this road project will not only improve transportation infrastructure but also foster greater unity among the diverse ethnic groups in Rivers State.

In addition to the Ring Road project, Governor Fubara has launched various other road projects across different local government areas. The Elelenwo internal roads in Obio Akpor LGA and the Omuakali-Eberi Road in Omuma LGA are currently underway, providing improved accessibility and connectivity for the residents. The ongoing construction of the Aleto-Ebubu-Eteo road in Eleme LGA will also serve as an alternative route to the busy East-West road, enhancing the pace of doing business in the state.

Governor Fubara's administration has not only focused on infrastructure development but has also implemented initiatives that directly benefit the people of Rivers State. The governor approved the construction of 20,000 low-income housing units, addressing the housing needs of the less privileged. Additionally, he signed a N4 billion Small and Medium Enterprise Scales Fund with the Bank of Industry, providing financial opportunities for entrepreneurs in the state.

Furthermore, Governor Fubara has prioritised the well-being and education of the people of Rivers State. He approved and implemented promotions for all civil servants who had been stagnating for eight years, ensuring that they received their entitled financial benefits. The governor also granted a N100,000 Christmas bonus to all state civil servants, demonstrating his commitment to their welfare. Moreover, he increased the number of scholarships available for Rivers indigenes at PAMO Medical University and released a N2 billion grant to Rivers State University, Nkpolu Oroworukwo.

Governor Fubara has also been proactive in healthcare and education. He approved and implemented the Rivers State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme, ensuring that the residents have access to affordable and quality healthcare. The governor also rehabilitated and reopened all Model Primary Healthcare Centres across the local government areas, improving the healthcare infrastructure in the state. Moreover, he implemented free registration for WAEC and SSCE for all Rivers children and distributed textbooks and school materials to schools across the state, promoting education for all.

Governor Fubara's commitment to sports development is also commendable. He has provided funding for the activities of the Rivers Queens Handball Team and the Rivers Hoopers Basketball Team, who emerged as champions in their respective categories. He has sponsored the outings of the Rivers United Club and supported other sporting activities in the state, fostering a culture of sports excellence.

Additionally, Governor Fubara has prioritised the restoration and improvement of essential services and facilities. He has restored water supplies and functional elevators in all blocks at the State Secretariat Complex and initiated the total renovation of the complex. He has also focused on the rehabilitation of roads in the Port Harcourt Township area, ensuring the smooth flow of transportation within the city.

Despite the political crisis that has targeted his administration, Governor Fubara has proven to be a resilient and dedicated leader. His accomplishments within just eight months are a testament to his commitment to the development and progress of Rivers State. His focus on infrastructure, healthcare, education, and sports development has positively impacted the lives of the people of Rivers State. With his continued efforts, there is no doubt that Governor Fubara will lead the state to even greater heights of progress and prosperity.
