The Publicity secretary of the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State Mr. Chris Fynebone, in a press briefing at the state secretariat of the party have blamed Hon. Samuel Nwanosike, the Ikwerre Local Government, PDP Chairmanship candidate of June 16th chairmanship election, of the pandemonium today that halted the peaceful protest of the APC group at the the Rivers State High court.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr. Fynebone stated that " today's incident is the height of travesty of justice, it indeed underscores the meddlesomeness of the Wike led government, particularly to pocket the judiciary to do their bidding. We envisieged when they plot to use the Rivers State judiciary injunction to a group in the APC that are working with the governor, PDP was hatched".
Mr. Chris Fynebone also stated that " Hon. Samuel Nwanosike, today led thugs of the PDP to attack APC innocent members who had gathered to peacefully protest the travesty the court was about to embark on. On the other hand, i believe that our earlier alert and the alarm we raised that a small group in APC collected money from governor Wike to sabotage the APC congresses came to light and indeed manifested today in the unnecessary involvement of the state PDP, in the affairs around the court. Ordinarily, PDP should not have been concerned with what was happening in the court today if they do not have a collaboration.
The position of the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State, is that the congress which have started long ago, is a process which have since commenced, and we know that legally there is nothing anyone can do about a process that has since began and presently ongoing nation wide. You will recall that, the ward congresses took place last weekend nation wide including Rivers State, the local government and state congresses are a continuation of the process that kicked off last weekend. In any case APC as a party have not been served any court process or noti e of injunction in any form whatsoever, therefore, tomorrow local government congress and even the state congress of May 19th will take place as planned.
Continuing, the state APC publicity secretary, Mr. Chris Fynebone, have emphasised that what happened today should really inform the media, that the alarm which was earlier raised before the commencement of this process is real, he said the intervention of PDP and the state government was not necessary, and that all they earlier raised alarm for has come to reality. He said the state government is all out to pocket the state judiciary to do it's bidding, especially from the incident that took place today.
